Hello, I am Shamila.

I also go by Sham.

I started my photographic journey in 2018. At the time I was working a 9-5 office job for HMRC, which wasn't for me.

I was looking for a side hustle. A trusted friend who worked in the wedding industry suggested photography. I thought about it. I do enjoy taking photos of my nephews and when I'm out with my friends I'm the first person they turn to take thier photo to put on their stories.

I spent the next 2 days researching cameras. Yes, I am that person that spends more time researching a topic than would like to admit.

Once I got my camera equipment, there was no stopping me. I took every opportunity to practise, practise and practise on my family and friends. Whenever a family member or friend had a party I was there with my camera clicking away. I absolutely loved the feeling I had when I captured their authentic smiles and laughter. This is when I knew I wanted to photograph weddings; I love witnessing and capturing the happy moments and I love creating one of a kind images with portraiture work. Once I knew how to work my camera equipment, take great candid and portrait shots I started my business photographing birthday parties, christenings and engagements. The thought of messing up someone's wedding photos terrified me; this is someone's special day and they will cherish their photos for the many years to come. I took this route because I knew when I start photographing weddings I wanted to deliver images that my clients will treasure forever and I wanted to be proud of the images I delivered. I attended group workshops and one on one tuition. I spent years developing my craft and still today I enjoy working on my passion of photography.

This is what I love about photography, there is no final destination. Photography like many other art forms is about continually growing and evolving.

I started photographing wedding in 2019 and it's the best decision I ever made. I love photographing weddings, each wedding is bespoke and that's how I approach photographing each wedding.
